Pathways and Progression Opportunities

The WVLLN Progression Agreements

The overarching aim of the WVLLN progression agreements is to widen participation and facilitate the progression of vocational learners into higher education using established and recognised vocational qualifications. To this end the agreements are seeking to increase the opportunity for vocational learners through the transferability of skills and knowledge gained through the study of vocational qualifications to parallel the opportunity created by the ‘A’ level skill transferability. There are two distinct types of agreements:

  • Type 1 – Transferability into a Regional Priority Subject
  • Type 2 – Builds opportunity around specific qualification used extensively in vocational training.

If you follow the links below you will find diagrams which illustrate the progression opportunities that the WVLLN agreements offer learners within the network.  The below pdfs also illustrate the impact of our progression agreements for learners.

The progression agreements below apply for entry in 2010. Please note that progression routes will be reviewed and may be subject to change for entry in 2011 and subsequent years.
